Aaron Van Hooser, O.D.
Dr. Aaron Van Hooser grew up in the Northland with his sister, Haley, on Weatherby Lake, where his parents still reside. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ.
His clinical training included rotations at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Tallahassee, FL; Moyes Eye Center in Kansas City, MO; Tayani Institute of Ophthalmology in Orange County, CA; and the Midwestern University Eye Institute in Glendale, AZ. These experiences gave him a strong foundation in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye, and various eye injuries.
Dr. Van Hooser finds great fulfillment in helping patients improve their vision and quality of life. He values open communication with dedication to answering questions and addressing concerns. The most rewarding part of his profession is building lasting relationships with his patients and their families.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, Abby, and their Goldendoodle, Greta. He loves supporting Abby in her activities—dance, gymnastics, and soccer—and spending time with family and friends. In the summer, he enjoys boating, fishing, and being outdoors. He’s also passionate about hunting, snowboarding, and dirt biking. A lifelong animal and plant enthusiast, he once considered becoming a veterinarian—his second calling if not for optometry.
